Nate Lashley Wins Rocket Mortgage Classic!

Journeyman, Nate Lashley, is in the Winner's Circle for the first time! Nate has an interesting story dating back to his college playing days at the University of Arizona. His parents and girlfriend were tragically killed in a plane crash after watching him play in a tournament. After graduating from U of A he bounced around some mini tours and had a career in real estate. This week he is a PGA Tour winner! Taking home $1.3 million. Not bad for a real estate professional. Lashley 4 rounds included 63, 67, 63, 70 to finish 25 under par and 6 shots clear of runner up, Doc Rivers.

The Stats That Count

When diving into the stats and looking to see where Lashley excelled, I couldn't find one part of his game that stood out. Which means Nate played some really solid all around golf. Looking at the basic stats he hit 81.9% of his greens in regulation and hitting it to 30'10" within the pin. He also had an average number of putts per GIR of 1.5. Lashley only had 3 bogeys and no doubles or higher. He averaged 299.8 yards off the tee and hitting 73% of the fairways. He led in stokes gained total but that is a given since he won. Nate played flawless golf and worth noting that good scores can happen without having to excel in a certain area.

The Winning Swing

Nate Lashley is a very consistent ball striker. He hits it far enough off the tee which gives him consistently a mid to short iron approach shot. His swing is very simple and has a unique finish similar to an Arnold Palmer finish.
